Pendet Dance Competition

Tari Pendet or Pendet dance is known as Balinese sacrifice traditional dance, often performed in Hindus temple for religious ceremonies. Dancers in a group moving in meanings, following rhythms of Balinese gamelan instrumental music.

While moving beautifully, dancers also carry a bowl of flower petals. At various times in the dance, they will cast a handful flower into the air.

Nowadays, Pendet more popular as a greeting dance. It often performed on official welcoming ceremony in many public events in Bali. Pendet dancers bring a warm greeting and deliver spirit to enjoy the performance.

To spread the spirit of Galungan as one of the biggest Hindu's ceremony, along with introducing Pendet dance to the kids, Plaza Renon held Pendet Dance Competition on 2nd August 2019. It was exciting when the kids compete with each other in their solo performance. See the photos below.
